This daytime ride option is available at 11:00 am and 1:00 pm on Saturdays and Sundays beginning November 28 till December 20. The Santa Holiday Train is a traditional favorite. Families are encouraged to wear warm clothes and bring blankets… it is cold at the North Pole! Exact dates, fares, and excursion times are available by visiting. The journey begins November 21 and runs through December 20 on select dates. Chefs aboard each car lead passengers in singing Christmas carols on the ride back to the Depot. Santa and his helpers greet passengers at the North Pole and then board the train, where each child is given the first gift of Christmas – a silver sleigh bell. Once onboard, hot chocolate and treats are served as passengers listen to the classic children’s book, The Polar Express, by Chris Van Allsburg. Set to the sounds of the motion picture soundtrack, passengers will relive the magic of the story as they are whisked away on THE POLAR EXPRESS™. This one creates a world of its own, like 'The Wizard of Oz' or 'Willy Wonka and the. Theres a deeper, shivery tone, instead of the mindless jolliness of the usual Christmas movie. Not creepy in an unpleasant way, but in that sneaky, teasing way that lets you know eerie things could happen. We do not want to compromise anyone’s health. Inside is the silver bell! The boy and his sister are enchanted by its beautiful sound, but their parents cannot hear it. In the morning, his little sister finds one small box with the boy’s name on it among the presents. When the children return to the train, the boy realizes the bell has fallen through a hole in his pocket. Santa cuts a bell from a reindeer’s harness and the delighted boy slips it into his bathrobe pocket as the clock strikes midnight and the reindeer pull the sleigh into the sky. Knowing that he can choose anything in the world, he decides on a simple gift: one silver bell from Santa’s sleigh. The boy is chosen to receive this first gift. The train takes the children to the center of the city, where Santa and the elves have gathered for the giving of the first gift of Christmas. He looks out his window and is astounded to see a steam engine parked in front of his house!
